The LGAs of Greater Dandenong and Casey have been identified as having a higher number of under-vaccinated children aged 6 months to <18 months, often because of socioeconomic barriers faced by their families. Children falling behind on the required vaccinations put themselves, as well as the community, at risk in the future, both physically and socially. The Childhood Immunisation In-Reach program aims to reduce the impact of these barriers and help families keep up-to-date with their child's vaccinations.
The In-Reach program is available to families and care givers of children aged 6 weeks to <18 months who live in Greater Dandenong and Casey.
Priority will be provided to families and care givers that meet the following criteria:
Siblings under 5 years who are also due for their vaccinations can be referred alongside their sibling. Vaccination administered to the sibling must be conducted in the same visit.
If you have a patient that would benefit from this service, please make a referral using this link, or click the button below.
Once the referral has been received, a vaccination provider will contact the parent/guardian. Each eligible child can receive up to two in-reach sessions under the program, and then will be linked back with their GP or relevant council immunisation service. The In-Reach childhood immunisation program is running until 31 May 2023.
We look forward to working with you on this program and helping assist families that need some extra assistance in accessing vaccination services.
