SEMPHN commissions services and activities that aim to prevent suicide, support those who have attempted suicide and support those affected by suicide. Suicide Prevention is a shared focus of the Commonwealth and the Primary health networks.

Suicide is influenced by multifaceted factors, impacting not only family and friends of a loved one who has died by suicide but also broader networks.

Through partnerships with services and communities, involving individuals with lived experiences of suicidal thoughts or loss, SEMPHN are enacting various initiatives and strategies.

SEMPHN’s aim is to combat stigma, encourage help seeking support, and strengthen the healthcare system's ability to address suicide risks. We employ evidence-based methods to reduce suicide rates, collaborating with service providers and communities to enhance awareness and integration.

Our efforts align with the national suicide prevention strategy.
