The General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GP ACI) commenced on 1 July 2024, with eligibility for the first quarter (July – September 2024) assessed and paid in October 2024.
Some GP ACI-registered practices and their GPs did not receive the quarter-one payment because their MyMedicare-registered patients were not properly registered for GP ACI in the Organisation Register.
For a limited time, the Department of Health and Aged Care is allowing practices that were registered for GP ACI to backdate the GP ACI registration of their MyMedicare-registered patients. This will allow re-assessment of eligible services delivered from July to December 2024.
Practices must backdate the GP ACI registration date for any MyMedicare-registered patients impacted by this error by 31 March 2025.
Detailed instructions for backdating are available here.
