In April 2023, the Australian Government invested $220 million in grants over two years from 2022-23 to 2023-24 through the Strengthening Medicare – GP Grants Program.
The Program was developed to support general practices and eligible Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) make improvements to their practices to expand patient access and support safe, and accessible, quality primary care.
As indicated in the funding agreement, the grantee is required to submit a Financial Acquittal Report to describe how the grant has been used and that the funding has been spent in accordance with the grant agreement.
The report is a simple itemisation of the expenses/costs covered using the grant, including identifying any unspent grant funds. This is also an opportunity for SEMPHN to identify unspent funds and assist your practice to spend the total grant funds before the closure of the Program.
The online report must be completed as soon as funds have been spent, and no later than 31 July 2024.
The Self-Evaluation Survey must also be completed online. The Survey will provide valuable data to the Department of Health and Aged Care on the GP Grants Program.
To assist practices in completing the report, SEMPHN is sending emails to practices advising of the requirements to complete the report and including the necessary information. The email will be sent to the Practice Owner/s or Authorised person (Grantee representative) nominated in the Grant Agreement.
SEMPHN will provide the following information to assist practices in completing the report:
If you received a GP Grant and
do not receive an email by 13 March 2024, please email
